Do you ever notice yourself feeling a little strange after spending a longer time at some place or in the company of certain people? For example, after visiting your grandparent's house, or after visiting a quiet small town in the middle of nowhere? Do you notice the eerie feeling you get when you visit an abandoned house or a place known for its ample history?
How much your surroundings affect you, without you even realising it, especially after we spend longer periods of time there, can significantly affect our mood, desires and even well-being. It is easier to notice a change after a short visit somewhere, but if you are at the same location day after day, year after year, we tend to stop noticing how it affects us, however, the daily impact is present. Whether it be a certain smell that we no longer notice, a lack of sunlight or even a certain arrangement in the house, it all plays its difference.
The same applies not only to our living spaces but also to cities or even countries in which we live in. Have you ever noticed how your whole attitude changed depending on the location you are in? For example, the difference when you are located in a small seaside town compared to a massive city with bursting nightlife?
So how is it that we are affected so much by the surrounding energy of people, places and even certain subjects? For that matter, what actually is energy, just an abstract concept we use to describe something we feel or is it actually a thing?
Everything in existence has an energy component and we are constantly exchanging energy with people, places and objects. Apartments, cities, and even countries we live in are affected by our own and others' personal energies, moods and ways of thinking. And with realising this or not, we are constantly picking up energy around us. So if we are located in the middle of the business hub, we are most likely feeling more in a “work vibe” compared to a, let's say, a shopping centre.
As energy builds up in everything, including our belongings, and living spaces, the accumulated energy should be cleansed from time to time. Things like crystals, incense, music and plants are all great remedies to help cleanse the energy around us, as well as to try to surround ourselves with as much nature as possible and of course, be surrounded by people, objects and locations that most resonate with our spirit.
